Scatterings at Sea

Whether for personal, environmental, or cost reasons, cremation is an increasingly attractive alternative to burial.

For those with an affinity for the sea, an Ash Scattering in the Atlantic Ocean is a beautiful and fitting tribute.

It’s meaningful, environmentally responsible, and surprisingly inexpensive.

Your Funeral Director or Crematorium will deliver your loved one’s ashes to our office.

Within one week, weather & sea conditions permitting, the ashes will be scattered to rest at sea.

Our vessel will pass through the Great Egg Harbor Inlet into the Atlantic Ocean, traveling at over three miles out to sea.

Once in position, our Captain will deliver a traditional sea going prayer, or a prayer or statement of your choice,

as the ashes are scattered into the waters of the Atlantic, and a wreath of fresh greens will be tossed onto the water.

A few minutes later, our vessel will quietly and respectfully depart the area.

You’ll receive a certificate memorializing the trip, signed by our Captain and

including the vessel name, exact date, time, and location of the scattering.

Private charters are available for an additional cost should you, family or friends should you wish to make the trip with us.

The total cost for our services is $200.00 (unattended)

We also handle Pet Ashes, $100.00 (unattended)

Additional charge for private charter trips

We follow the regulations (40CFR 229.1) of the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuary Act of 1972,

and we will immediately file a detailed report with the United States Environmental Protection Agency as required.
